Handmade Artisan Trays
I cannot paint like an Old Master, but I can use their beautiful artworks and deconstruct them to create whimsical, sometimes surreal artworks. I call myself a digital artist. My pieces are layers upon layers of imagery. Sometimes, I will start with a WM Turner painting as the backdrop, layer it with a transparent Degas, drop in a Portrait by E. Johnson, and then place objects, such as books, bees, dragonflies, bicycles, arrows, clouds, or rain into the work. I combine this with luscious colors and modern graphics to create a story and beautiful artwork you can hang on the wall, place on the end of a bed or side table, or use in the kitchen and bathroom. The work is decoupage, so do not immerse them in water, simply wipe them down to clean.
Since 2020, I started selling my work to museum gift shops around the country. I created pieces specifically for their exhibitions. And now I am showing here at ArtWorks.
